The Book

One book… many stories!

The experiences and sacrifices of many beloved WWII veterans will be featured in the book, SOLDIERS’ STORIES: A Collection of WWII Memoirs.  Written and submitted by descendants of war heroes, the stories and photos of these men and women, who fought so bravely so others could live, will be in print for our next generation.

We are the five children of Myron H. Miller, S/Sgt who served in the USA Armed Forces from 1942-1946 during WWII in the European Theater Operation. Together, we have pooled our strengths and skills to create a book as a way to memorialize not only our father, but offer others an opportunity to share the stories of their WWII veterans  as well.

THE BOOK

Our father seldom spoke about his experiences in the war, but we do have a few incredible ones. However, we didn’t have enough stories to make an entire book. We discovered there were others like us, proud descendants, that had more than a few important stories about WWII veterans who served in the European Theater, Pacific Theater, or stateside.  We figured that together, we could compile many stories into one book and each of us can memorialize our beloved WWII soldier’s effort.

Thanks to many financial supporters, this book will be published in November, 2016. This collection of memoirs and photos will represent the varied experiences and service of many brave soldiers. In the midst of their life and death struggles, they made lifelong friends, encountered humorous situations, and faced a variety of human experiences that should never be forgotten.  cropped-for-fb

We are in the process now to document their stories and honor their sacrifices.  Right now, we are in the middle of the editing and layout mode for the 100+ stories. A partial page example is attached here to show you how we are progressing.

The collection of stories will be published in full color as a hardback book form, titled SOLDIERS’ STORIES: A Collection of WWII Memoirs. Our print goal is November 2016, in time for Christmas presents!
